The Interrelatedness of Ontology, Epistemology and Methodology in Post-graduate Research. Ontology, epistemology and methodology form an interrelated foundation of all Ph. D. and masters degree research. Ontology is necessary for an analysis of the epistemology while methodology describes the application of the two concepts in academic research. The meaning and interrelatedness of the three concepts are discussed in this video.



Research Methods for Ph. D. and Masters Degree Studies. Case Studies. Case study research is a systematic research process that investigates contemporary phenomena and events. The target for case study research can be one or several individuals, phenomena or events. The target is not the focus of the research but rather the dynamics of a situation or a behavioral pattern of a community. Case study research as a research method is discussed in this video.



Research Paradigms. Constructivism. Constructivism claims that people construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. It is a “user-friendly” philosophical stance that can be used with most research methods. The nature, elements and value in post-graduate research of constructivism are described and explained in this video.
